Homebuyer Surveys and Valuations Explained

Homebuyers Survey and Valuation

The Homebuyer Survey is a concise report approved by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

It is appropriate for properties of conventional type and design that appear to be in reasonable condition. It is not appropriate for older properties (pre 1920) or those of unusual construction.

The report covers the site, buildings and services. It focuses on structural defects and other problems which the surveyor considers urgent or significant. The report includes a valuation of the property in its current condition. Issues needing consideration before proceeding with the purchase are clearly identified in the report.
